College classes blog #2

Taking college class is a new experience that every one takes when they enter the Summer scholar program. What I have notice is the college course is very challenging. The course I'm taking now is the English course. This college course requires a lot of critical thinking, when ever we read, write, and discuss anything in class our teacher Ms. Fountain pushes our critical thinking skill and go beyond the reading.
In class all the students have essay that is rough draft due every Monday and a final draft every Friday. The topic of each essay is autobiography about ourselves. Recently we have finish a Literacy Narrative explaining our most memorable experience of reading and writing. But in the end we combine the essays we made into a short autobiography about our selves. In addition of reading the autobiography of Barack Obama called "Dreams from My Father". Everyday in class we discuss the chapter by chapter on what happen in Obama's life. Sometimes in class we read short stories and discuss them as a class or work in groups. Later we have mid terms and finals about the book, discussions, and other short stories we read in class. What I hope I will gain from doing this class is to become a better writer.
